Grant Helps LiFT Revitalize Outdoor Area

From the early stages, the Bolt of Hope team felt compelled to help children within the Bakersfield Community. The team intentionally sought local organizations currently working to improve the lives and futures of children in and around Bakersfield.

On Thursday, November 29th LiFT was presented with a “Bolt of Hope”, a grant from Bolthouse Properties that will fund repairs necessary to create a usable outdoor space that can be shared by all of their ministries.

LiFT is a non-profit organization that has been serving the community of Oildale since 2008. LiFT, which stands for Living in Fellowship Together, has three main ministries: Homework Club, Tuesday Night Dinner, and Shower Ministry.

The Homework Club at LiFT provides mentoring and academic support in a loving Christ-centered environment. The year-round program allows volunteers to form and maintain meaningful relationships with the children while demonstrating Christ’s love. Program activities include academic help, Bible lessons, science experiments, crafts, games, field trips, and special reward trips.

Bolt of Hope is a team comprised of Bolthouse Properties’ employee whose vision is to grow God’s kingdom in Bakersfield through love and compassion, by being open-minded to the needs in our community, and by watering the seeds planted by local organizations that have a passion for being the light in the world.
