A Signature Approach to Community
9.1.2025
Walk through Seven Oaks and you’ll see how thoughtfully it stands apart from other neighborhoods in Bakersfield. The retail centers feel thoughtfully placed. The walking paths connect somewhere meaningful. The public spaces invite you to linger rather than hurry through. There’s an intentionality here that feels different from typical suburban development, and there’s a reason for that.
You’ve likely heard the Bolthouse name before, most often in connection with farming. Founded in 1915 in Michigan, Bolthouse Farms expanded to the Central Valley in the 1970s, cultivating thousands of acres and becoming one of the region’s most recognized agricultural operations. For 90 years, the family built their reputation on quality, innovation, and deep community roots. The values shaped how they farmed and how they approached relationships, business, and growth.
In 2005, after much consideration, the family made the decision to sell Bolthouse Farms. While that chapter ended, their connection to this place remained. Bolthouse Properties was formed to continue stewarding the land while guiding its evolution with the same long-term perspective that had shaped five generations of farming.
Behind every detail you encounter daily stands this single organization with an uncommon approach to community building. We’ve been quietly stewarding this corner of Bakersfield for nearly twenty years, applying those same foundational values to development.
Now, as the master planners behind Seven Oaks, you can see that same mindset reflected in how the community has grown. When you grab coffee at Belcourt Village, shop at Grand Island Village, or walk the connected trails near your home, you’re moving through places designed with daily life in mind. We continue to own and manage every commercial property we’ve developed, staying involved to ensure these places remain clean, connected, and cared for.
We focus on details that make your days easier and more enjoyable: walking paths that connect homes to restaurants, architectural standards that create visual continuity, and shared spaces designed for casual moments and community gatherings. Each element is part of creating places where people feel at home.
Celebrating Community, Season by Season
This commitment to connection inspired Experience Seven Oaks, our platform that brings neighbors together throughout the year. From music nights to seasonal markets, each event is an opportunity to gather, support local businesses, and enjoy the place we all call home.
We invite you to join us for AutumnFest at Belcourt Village on Saturday, October 4 from NOON to 7 PM. The day will feature live music, starting with the Happy Five Little German Band in the afternoon and wrapping up with Last Call in the evening. Belcourt Village businesses will offer seasonal food and drink specials, and The Point will host family-friendly activities along with a festive pumpkin patch. One lucky guest will win a $500 Disney gift card, courtesy of our friends at LINQride Executive Car Service and Greet magazine.
AutumnFest celebrates everything we care about: neighbors connecting, families making memories, and local businesses growing. We’re proud to call Seven Oaks home and honored to share it with you.
